Ricoh Premiership Rugby has launched The Business of Rugby, an initiative that focuses on building a collaborative, sustainable business ethos within the premiership rugby clubs across England.

Based on the principles of a focus on People, Place, Process and Technology it bears a striking resemblance to The Mindful Collective’s : Purpose, People, Process, Profit.

At the time of writing, The Business of Rugby first chapter has been published, focusing on The Importance of Culture, and The Saracens Way. The Importance of Culture identifies that ‘Vision drives the leadership, the leadership drives the culture, the culture drives the performance and that then creates the legacy that we’re trying to achieve.’

Professional Rugby brings together a blend of commercialism, culture and teamwork almost unparalleled and there can be much to learn from initiatives like this.
